GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie finally has a gig on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The venue for Lil Boosie’s concert will be Saturday at Club Envy located north of Gulfport.

Doors open at 9:30 p.m. Tickets already purchased will be honored. Promoter Keith Brown said tickets already purchased will be honored.

The private club location was announced after the Gulfport City Council declined Tuesday to waive a noise ordinance so Lil Boosie to perform at a public park. Brown said he will need no waivers or special permission for the indoor show.

According to the city, they denied the variance because the concert wasn’t properly planned and they didn’t like the venue because they say it’s located in a residential area.

Gulfport Police Chief Leonard Papania had earlier denied the variance for the noise ordinance.

“The whole purpose is to give consideration to where the event’s going to take place and the impact of that noise on the community and it became very clear and evident to me that it was going to have a negative impact to the community up there,” said Papania.

The rapper, whose real name is Torence Hatch, was released from Angola prison in Louisiana in March after being sentenced to eight years on drug charges. He remains on supervised parole until 2018.
