INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana Department of Environmental Management is looking for people who want to have their well water tested.

The agency still needs a few hundred respondents to reach the desired geographic coverage for its 2014 Groundwater Assessment Survey.

IDEM this year sent groundwater survey forms to thousands of people who rely on wells as their source of water at home. Using the data collected from those who invite IDEM to test their wells, the agency will be able to analyze water quality in the state.

The goal is to evaluate groundwater quality in different regions based on factors such as geology, land use, and depth of water and of wells.
