LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a Rider University student was killed when his car and a school bus collided on a highway near the school’s campus in central New Jersey.

Eliseo Diaz, a 22-year-old Union City resident, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 2:15 a.m. Saturday on Route 206 in Lawrenceville.

Authorities say the bus was among four that had just dropped off other students at the campus. It was exiting the university’s south entrance when the collision occurred.

The bus driver was not injured, and no passengers were in either vehicle.

No charges have been filed in the crash, which remains under investigation.
