LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Jeff Robertson has been appointed publisher of the Laramie Boomerang.

The Boomerang reported Friday ( ) that Robertson takes over the job on July 14. He succeeds Jerry Raehal, who recently became CEO of the Colorado Press Association in Denver.

Robertson previously was publisher of the Torrington (Wyoming) Telegram and a group publisher and division manager for the Telegram’s owner, News Media Corp. He was responsible for 12 community newspapers, two free-distribution shoppers and 13 newspaper websites and niche publications in Wyoming, Nebraska and Arizona.

He also served as director of News Media’s new media division from 2005 to 2011.

L. Michael McCraken, president of Cheyenne Newspapers Inc., which owns the Boomerang and the Wyoming Tribune Eagle, said Robertson is a good fit for the Boomerang and the Laramie community.
