FLINT, Mich. (AP) - The city of Flint plans to keep its Swartz Creek and Kearlsey Lake golf courses while allowing a private company to operate them until 2023.

The Flint Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1fMHuGk ) Tuesday that state-appointed emergency manager Darnell Earley signed a resolution last month to extend management and maintenance agreements for the two golf courses with Flint City Golf LLC.

The extensions last until Nov. 30, 2023, and should raise more than $135,000 for the cash-strapped city.

In 2012, Flint City Golf started leasing Swartz Creek and Kearsley Lake from the city. The original two-year lease has been updated with new provisions.
