EL PASO, Texas (AP) - El Paso will be getting a new $120 million teaching hospital in a project by Sierra Providence Health Network and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Details were announced Tuesday after the El Paso City Council approved more than $14 million in incentives for the 140-bed hospital.

Medstar Corp will develop the hospital complex with construction expected to begin this fall and be completed by late 2016.

The hospital will be affiliated with Texas Tech’s Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. The complex planned for west El Paso will also include a 110,000-square-foot medical office building.
