PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Maine’s residents-only day for deer and moose hunting is underway.

Saturday is the one day this year when the deer and moose hunts are restricted to state residents only. The resident day for moose is restricted to wildlife management districts 15, 16, 22, 23, 25 and 26. Those districts are clustered in southern and coastal Maine.

The regular firearms season for deer begins Nov. 3 and runs until Nov. 29. The moose season has four different sessions, two of which are over. The third session runs Nov. 3 to Nov. 8 and the final session runs Nov. 3 to Nov. 29.
