VANDALIA, Ohio (AP) - The State Highway Patrol says two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 in southwestern Ohio.

A dispatcher from the patrol’s Dayton post says others were injured Friday night in the crash, but the number of those injured and their conditions weren’t immediately known. The patrol did not say how many vehicles were involved in the crash that occurred on the highway in Vandalia shortly after 9 p.m.

A patrol statement says multiple vehicles crashed after attempting to avoid a disabled vehicle on the highway. Witnesses told authorities that the disabled vehicle was previously involved in a separate crash.

The crash remained under investigation Saturday. The dispatcher said no other details were immediately available.
