GREENSBURG, Ind. (AP) - An Indiana high school is bringing 60 speakers together to remind students of the meaning behind the Pledge of Allegiance.

Greensburg Community High School teacher John Pratt has enlisted “Garfield” creator Jim Davis, Greensburg Mayor Gary Hebert, former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer, veterans and dozens of others to participate in the event on Nov. 7.

Pratt tells the Greensburg Daily News (https://bit.ly/1wFrlGp ) that many students don’t understand what the Pledge of Allegiance means. He hopes the event gives them new appreciation for the 31 words they speak before classes begin each day.

Speakers will participate in person, via Skype or through a personalized video message. An actor will portray Indiana native and former President Benjamin Harrison.
