FISHERS, Ind. (AP) - Police are warning residents of an Indianapolis suburb to take extra safety precautions following the slaying of an elderly man in a park.

The Fishers Police Department spokesman Sgt. Tom Weger said someone walking their dog came across the body of 73-year-old Henry Kim on Saturday evening. He says Kim, who was an avid walker, suffered an apparent gunshot wound and an injury to his neck.

Weger said Sunday that investigators were seeking a person of interest, described as a white male, 30 to 45 years of age, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and riding a mountain bike.

Weger encouraged residents of the suburb just north of Indianapolis to keep their doors locked and garage doors down, to walk in pairs and to maintain a greater awareness of their surroundings.
