MANCHESTER, England (AP) - Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says defender Marcos Rojo dislocated his left shoulder in the 1-0 loss to fierce rival Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Argentina international was carried off on a stretcher in the 55th minute at Etihad Stadium after being hurt in a challenge with City defender Martin Demichelis on Sunday.

Van Gaal says “the shoulder is out, so you never know how long that takes.”

Van Gaal says Rojo will definitely not play against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Rojo’s absence leaves United with a defensive crisis at center back, with Jonny Evans and Phil Jones also injured and Chris Smalling suspended against Palace after getting sent off against City.
