NEW YORK (AP) - New York City’s school principals overwhelming approve of Schools Chancellor Carmen Farina (fah-REEN’-yah).

That’s according to a survey of more than 1,000 school principals.

The Daily News reports that 91 percent said they were satisfied or very satisfied with Farina’s oversight of schools.

According to the June survey, that’s up from a 72 percent satisfaction rating given to former schools chancellor Dennis Walcott in 2013.

The survey also found that 89 percent approved of Farina’s handling of the curriculum.

Farina is a former teacher, principal and superintendent.
