ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities are investigating two northeast Florida medical clinics for Medicaid and health care fraud.

Agents with the state attorney general’s office served search warrants for two Medi+M.D. clinics co-owned by St. Johns County Commissioner Bill McClure.

The St. Augustine Record reports (https://bit.ly/1o3RCio ) that McClure is named in the search warrants.

According to the warrants, officials are investigating the clinics for state and federal charges including health care fraud, grand theft, falsifying death certificates and practicing medicine without a license.

No charges have been filed, and McClure told the newspaper he is cooperating with the investigation.

Investigators took Medicaid and Medicare billing documents, prescription medications, financial records and computers.
