DAVIS, W.Va. (AP) - Canaan Valley Resort State Park is getting ready for winter recreation season.

Officials say Canaan Valley had about 277,000 visitors who enjoyed the park’s 43 trails last year. Those trails are being readied now for the cold weather later this year. The highest elevation is 4,280 feet and the vertical drop is 850 feet.

In preparation for the season, Canaan Valley has scheduled a seasonal job fair on Oct. 18. Positions include lift attendants, snowboard and ski instructors, rental attendants, tube park attendants, food service positions and snow removal.

Canaan Valley Resort is a West Virginia State Park and managed by US Hotel and Resort Inc. It offers a variety of accommodations including guestrooms and suites, cottage rentals and paved campsites.
