MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A 24-year-old woman is under arrest after police said she ran over a woman in downtown Minneapolis on purpose.

Witnesses told police that the victim was struck by a car about 1 a.m. Saturday and dragged. The Star Tribune reports (http://strib.mn/1ro9KOE ) that 26-year-old Miera L. Horton of Minneapolis was in critical condition in a coma at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Police said two witnesses described seeing the driver aim her car at Horton and veering toward her as she tried to dodge.

Police spokesman John Elder said the incident grew out of a fight between the women.
