HAYNEVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A Georgia man is charged with murder after police found a body along Interstate 65 south of Montgomery.

Investigators say 59-year-old James Scarbrough of Warm Springs, Georgia, is being held in the death of his 61-year-old wife, Ester Scarbrough.

Lowndes County authorities tell WSFA-TV (http://bit.ly/1sKpEqA ) the couple was driving home Thursday night when they got into an argument.

Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Marc Green says the woman was behind the wheel and pulled over into the emergency lane. That’s when she was fatally stabbed with a pocketknife.

Green says motorists stopped to assist them and saw blood and a knife.

Scarbrough is now in the Lowndes County Jail in Hayneville. Bond is set at $250,000.

Court records aren’t yet available to show whether Scarbrough has a lawyer.
