ANKENY, Iowa (AP) - The wife of a man seriously injured on the job is crediting a MidAmerican power company line crew with saving her husband’s life.

Des Moines television station KCCI reports (http://bitly.com/1DLW2xS ) that 60-year-old Rick Dawson, of Ankeny, suffered 22 fractured ribs, a broken collar bone and multiple facial fractures when he became pinned under the cab of a big rig on Thursday. Dawson is expected to live.

Police say a MidAmerican line crew working about 80 yards from the site of the accident used their boom truck to lift Dawson’s truck off him within three minutes of the accident.

Dawson’s wife, Peggy, calls the line crew heroes.

She says Dawson can move his arms and legs, but hasn’t been able to talk because of tubes doctors inserted in his throat.
