ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) - A Stearns County grand jury has indicted a father on a first-degree murder charge in the death of his infant son.

Robert Kaiser, of Albany, is accused of shaking his 2-month-old son, causing fatal injuries last August. The infant died at Children’s Hospital in the Twin Cities. An autopsy showed the child died from a traumatic brain injury.

Bond of $1 million was ordered for Kaiser last month on a charge of second-degree murder. A criminal complaint alleges the 32-year-old father shook his son Aug. 27, the same day he sent a text to the boy’s mother which said the infant was keeping him awake.

Kaiser is scheduled to make a court appearance Friday afternoon.
