KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) - A recently hired Blaine County School District trustee has resigned following a battery charge accusing him of grabbing a 16-year-old boy by the neck at a summer concert.

The Idaho Mountain Express (http://bit.ly/10p8XHB ) reports that this is the second resignation that’s taken place on the central Idaho school board within the last year.

Richard “Rick” Roberts submitted his resignation letter Thursday after serving on the trustee board since May.

The letter did not mention the recent battery charge. Instead, Roberts wrote he was stepping down because of “personal issues.”

Roberts replaced former school board chairman Paul Bates following complaints that minors drank alcohol at a New Year’s Eve party at his home. Bates resigned in late January.
