BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A man who had a 10-hour standoff with police in western Michigan has been found guilty of murder and sexual assault.

Duncan Willis is accused of fatally shooting 58-year-old Kathleen Hawley and sexually assaulting three other women in November at a home in Mecosta Township, about 40 miles north of Grand Rapids.

The Grand Rapids Press reports (http://bit.ly/1sS7vdw ) jurors on Friday found the 28-year-old Willis guilty of first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent and felony firearm.

Police say Willis kept the women and three children hostage before surrendering. Willis was a neighbor.

The trial began Monday, and testimony concluded Thursday. Jurors deliberated for two hours Thursday night and reconvened Friday morning.

A sentencing date hasn’t been set.
