ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) - Questar Gas is proposing to cut its natural gas rates in Wyoming by $900,000.

The proposal would mean about a $22 a year savings for the average customer.

Quester Gas serves Wyoming residents primarily in Lincoln, Sublette, Sweetwater, Uinta and Carbon counties.

The company submitted its request to the Wyoming Public Service Commission on Thursday.

Public Service Commission Chief Counsel Chris Petrie tells the Rock Springs Rocket-Miner (http://bit.ly/1pwAtbX) that the request is based on lower natural gas prices.

Once the Wyoming Public Service Commission approves the request, the new lowered rates would begin on Nov. 1.

Questar spokesman Darren Shepherd estimated a $2 per month price drop for the typical customer in the winter.
