CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Beginning Jan. 1, artists can begin sending submissions to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department for the conservation stamp art contest.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1oGLtU8 ) the winning artist’s picture of this year’s featured animal, the swift fox, will be featured on the 2016 stamp. The winner will receive $3,500, while second place receives $1,500 and third place $750.

The competition is open to professional artists, and entries must be postmarked or delivered to the Game and Fish office in Cheyenne between Jan. 1 and March 1.

Almost all hunters and anglers in the state must buy the stamp every year.
