FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Warren made a point before the season that it wanted to prove it belonged among the state’s best.

Despite a pair of early losses to higher classification teams, the Lumberjacks (2-2) have an opportunity to prove they’re still among the championship contenders in Class 4A when they host Star City on Friday night.

After opening its season against three higher classification teams, Warren faced its first Class 4A competition last week - coming away with a 30-9 win against Crossett.

The Bulldogs (4-0), ranked second in Class 4A, figure to provide a more difficult challenge for the Lumberjacks. Star City defeated Monticello 48-23 last week and has defeated its opponents by an average of 49-18 this season.
