LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will hold a series of family fishing events this month geared to young and inexperienced anglers.

The Trout Family Fishing events will begin Oct. 19 and run on various days through Oct. 30. The events will be held across the state, including in Scottsbluff, Holdrege, Papillion, Lincoln, Lexington, Gibbon, Kearney, Curtis and Nebraska City.

Rods and reels, hooks, bobbers, weights and worms are all anglers will need to start catching rainbow trout. All of that equipment and bait will be loaned for free. Volunteer instructors will be on hand to help.

Each body of water will be stocked with catchable-size trout before the event. Anglers ages 16 and older must have a valid Nebraska fishing license. Permits may be purchased at www.OutdoorNebraska.org .
