LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Lafayette police had one person in custody and were searching for two others after officers responded to reports of early morning gunfire at an intersection.

Police said in a news release that Lafayette officers responding to the Thursday morning call spotted one vehicle saw two people running away, armed with handguns.

They arrested the 20-year-old driver of the car. They set up a perimeter and used dogs to search for the other two people but were unable to catch them. The investigation is continuing.
