BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - A Bozeman company that makes gluten-free oatmeal cookies has a three-month contract to ramp up production and is hiring 42 people to help with the work.

Montana Monster Munchies owner Rich Powell tells the Bozeman Daily Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1rXVKlr ) that the contract calls for his company to increase production from several thousand cookies per day to nearly 200,000. He says the contract does not allow him to identify the company he’s working with. He says it’s well known but not established in the gluten-free market.

Powell says Montana Monster ran a test in August and determined it could produce the amount of quality cookies required in the contract.

He and his wife Cathy are still looking for about half of the part-time employees needed to fulfill the contract that begins in October.
