NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) - A southern Indiana college campus has given the all clear following a lockdown.

Indiana University Southeast has posted on Twitter that a possible weapon that was reported in a backpack turned out to be an umbrella.

The lockdown lasted more than an hour Thursday afternoon on the campus in New Albany, across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky.

IU-Southeast spokeswoman Kendra Barnes says the incident was reported about 12:40 p.m. EDT near the campus life campus. People on the 180-acre campus were advised to take shelter behind locked doors.
