MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) - A 46-year-old Meridian man has died of injuries suffered when his scooter collided with a truck pulling a trailer at an intersection south of Meridian.

The crash happened at about 11 a.m. Wednesday, about the same time as a nearby crash caused a power outage. Ada County deputies are investigating whether the traffic lights at the intersection were working at the time of the crash.

The Ada County coroner’s office tells the Idaho Statesman the victim, Brian L. Burger, died of blunt force trauma to the head. Sheriff’s Sgt. Jake Vogt says Burger was not wearing a helmet and died at the hospital a short time after the collision.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.
