MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (AP) - A 20-year-old Detroit-area woman has received three years’ probation for using a belt to beat her 14-year-old cousin in a videotaped attack that was posted online.

Tajenae Grady of Redford and her younger brother were visiting their cousin in Warren when the beating occurred. The Macomb Daily (http://bit.ly/1up8AYK ) says Grady and her brother repeatedly whipped their cousin with a belt for stealing items at school.

Judge Mary Chrzanowski (Shar-NOW’-ski) sentenced Grady on Thursday in Mount Clemens. The sentence is under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act. That means the conviction and a six-month jail sentence will be erased if she successfully completes probation.

Grady’s brother has received probation in juvenile court.
