FORT COVINGTON, N.Y. (AP) - State police say they’ve arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with the stabbing of two men at a hotel near the Canadian border in northern New York.

Troopers say the two men from Fort Covington, both 22, were stabbed shortly after midnight Wednesday at the Fort Covington Hotel in Franklin County.

Police day both men were stabbed multiple times and taken to the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone for treatment. Information on their conditions hasn’t been released.

Troopers say they arrested Burnest Vaughn of Fort Covington on Thursday and charged him with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He’s being held in the county jail on $25,000 bail.

It couldn’t be determined if he has lawyer.

Police haven’t released a motive or other details of the incident.
