PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say a logger died when he was pinned by a tree that struck him in northwest Oregon.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says 61-year-old Donald J. Wolcott of Cathlamet, Washington, died at the scene Wednesday. He had been working on Weyerhauser property located between the two forks of Green Timber Creek.

Investigators ruled the death an accident.

Wolcott was employed by Schubert & Sons Logging of Cathlamet.
