BETHEL, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Law School is getting federal funding to help farmers acquire affordable land and help make their excess or gleaned food available to food banks.

Sen. Patrick Leahy and the law school on Wednesday are announcing a new agreement between the school and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Library.

Leahy’s office say he included the funding in last year’s agricultural appropriations bill for the USDA to form partnerships with law schools to study agricultural legal issues.
