McNeese State (at No. 19 Nebraska (1-0), noon (ESPNU)

Line: None.

Series Record: Nebraska leads 1-0.

Nebraska hopes to avoid taking even the slightest step back after a turnover-free, 55-7 win over Florida Atlantic in which the Cornhuskers rolled up 784 yards. McNeese State is using its opener in Lincoln to pay some bills - the Cowboys will earn $415,000 - and maybe settle on a quarterback.

McNeese State running game vs. Nebraska front seven. Transfers Nate Holmes (Arkansas) and Derrick Milton (Mississippi State) join Kelvin Bennett at running back, and QB Daniel Sams rushed for more than 800 yards for Kansas State last year. The Cowboys had one of their best running games in program history, and this year could be just as good or better.

McNeese State: Sams shared playing time with Jake Waters at Kansas State a year ago and led the Wildcats with 11 rushing touchdowns.

Nebraska: LB Zaire Anderson led the Huskers with seven tackles against Florida Atlantic, and he’ll be called on to help control McNeese State’s running game.
