A woman was reportedly beheaded and found in the garden area of a London home Thursday, police said.

Authorities said a 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the crime, and that police had to use a stun gun to subdue him, The Guardian reported.

“I can understand why this may cause concern,” Detective John Sandlin said. “However, we are confident that we are not looking for anyone else at this stage. Whilst it is too early to speculate on what the motive behind this attack was, I am confident, based on the information currently available to me, that it is not terrorist related.”

He described the incident as a “highly visible attack in broad daylight on a residential street.”

Police were alerted to the crime by callers who warned of a man roaming with a knife, the Guardian reported.

“My neighbor, who works nights, said she was woken by noise from a man in her back garden,” said one nearby resident. “He had a machete.”

The names of the victim and suspect haven’t been released.
