HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a 29-year-old Connecticut man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison on child pornography charges that included having images of a boy he knew.

Ryan Harding of Woodstock was sentenced on Friday in federal court in Hartford. He pleaded guilty in November to one count each of receiving and possession of child pornography.

Prosecutors said that between July and October 2013 Harding downloaded images from a peer-to-peer file sharing program. Prosecutors said more than 600 images and videos of child pornography were found on his computers and a thumb drive. Among them were images of a partially naked boy he knew.

Harding had been on home confinement with GPS monitoring since his arrest in November 2013. After his release from prison he will have 15 years of supervised release.
