BODEGA BAY, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say two people have been found dead and two others remain missing following a boating accident off the Northern California coast.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s office says the search for the fishing party was launched Friday evening after someone reported that the boaters had not returned to dock near Bodega Bay.

Poor visibility hampered the nighttime search, but by Saturday morning a Coast Guard crew spotted the 21-foot boat, which was overturned in the rocks near Tomales Point in Marin County. Two bodies and a boat engine were found in the area.

Coast Guard Lt. Amanda Faukner said the agency had issued a warning to boaters about rough seas and gusty wind for the coastal area this weekend.

The search for the two missing boaters was suspended Saturday evening.
