WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a man was killed in a head-on crash on a northern New Jersey roadway.

Washington Township police say 68-year-old Raymond Ferrante, of Long Valley, was westbound on West Mill Road when an eastbound vehicle crossed over into his lane around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Ferrante was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The driver of the other vehicle, 69-year-old Elaine Moran, also of Long Valley, was not injured in the crash and declined medical treatment. It’s not yet known why her car crossed over the center double line.

No charges have been filed in the crash, but authorities say the investigation is ongoing by township police and the Morris County sheriff’s department.
