ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A state of emergency has been declared after a landslide dammed up an Albany creek, but officials say there’s no immediate danger of flooding and no need for evacuations.

Albany County Executive Dan McCoy says Monday afternoon that crews plan to dig a channel for the Normans Kill to flow past the landslide that stretches the length of two football fields.

The landslide happened on a stretch of land between an Albany golf course and a country club in suburban Bethlehem. Capital Hills Golf Course in Albany is closed to allow heavy equipment to get to the flooded area.
