ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in Buncombe County have filed multiple charges against a man who they say was driving impaired at the time of a collision that killed his 81-year-old mother.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reports (https://avlne.ws/1HMo93t) arrest warrants say 60-year-old David Michael Morrow faces charges which include aggravated felony death by vehicle and driving while impaired. He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday. It’s not known if he has an attorney.

Warrants say Martha Morrow was riding in a car driven by her son when it collided with another vehicle at an intersection. She was taken to Mission Hospital with internal injuries and a broken back and died Friday night.

Morrow initially was charged with felony serious injury by vehicle, but prosecutors amended the charge after Martha Morrow’s death.
