PHOENIX (AP) - A former teacher at a Phoenix high school has been sentenced to 35 years in prison and placed on lifetime probation on charges related to sex involving children.

Carlos Pineda Borja pleaded guilty last month to sexual conduct with a minor, child molestation and sexual abuse.

A Maricopa County Superior Court spokeswoman said Judge Sherry Stephens sentenced Borja on Tuesday under a plea agreement.

Phoenix police said Borja was still teaching at Morris K. Udall School when he was arrested 23, 2014.

According to police, he allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with two former students on campus during school hours during the 2012-2013 school year.

The ages of two girls haven’t been disclosed.
