BEDFORD, N.H. (AP) - The presidents from New Hampshire colleges and universities are presenting awards to some students and faculty for community service.

The awards are being presented Tuesday in Bedford through the Campus Compact for New Hampshire, a statewide consortium of college and university presidents.

Three separate awards are going to campuses, one for students who have made outstanding contributions to civic engagement; one to faculty contributing professional expertise in service to the community; and one for organizations that have enhanced the quality of life in the community.

The organization says annually, more than 23,000 student volunteers from New Hampshire’s colleges and universities serve more than 6 million hours in local communities.
