FLEMINGTON, N.J. (AP) - The brother of Union County’s sheriff could lose his driving privileges for life.

Under terms of a plea agreement, 55-year-old John Cryan of Alexandria pleaded guilty to 4th degree assault by auto, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident in 2013. Cryan’s license was suspended at the time.

The Courier News of Bridgewater (http://mycj.co/1In7k0p ) reports Cryan has an extensive history of drunken and dangerous driving, including 13 license suspensions and more than 20 motor-vehicle violations.

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony Kearns III called his driving record “horrendous.”

The plea agreement calls for Cryan to serve a year in the county jail and durrender his driver’s license for life.

His attorney, Robert Bianchi, declined comment.
