LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - A Lake Havasu City woman born with spina bifida is trying to get a replacement for her stolen wheelchair.

Jessica Clark says she left her hot-pink wheelchair in her home’s carport for about an hour Sunday morning before someone took it.

Clark owned her wheelchair for more than three years, paid for by her insurance company. It costs about $1,500.

Clark already has contacted her caseworker and her insurance company.

Her insurer will require Clark to obtain a copy of the police report and a prescription from her physician for a new wheelchair before they’ll consider replacing it.

Clark says it could take three to six months before she’s able to get her new wheelchair.

For now, she is attempting to get a temporary wheelchair from a local homecare company.
