MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - A Missoula County man who claimed to have a terminal illness to get sympathy from a 15-year-old girl before raping her has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, with 15 suspended.

Daniel Eagle was on probation for another sexual assault involving a 12-year-old girl in Fallon County when authorities say he duped his newest victim and her family, gaining their trust to rape the teen last spring.

Eagle told the court Tuesday he sought out the family to get their prescription medications and end his life.

The Missoulian reports (http://tinyurl.com/mg54o25 ) Eagle said he had blacked out from drinking that night and he remembered having sex with someone in the bathroom, but thought it was the girl’s neighbor.

The legal age of consent in Montana is 16.
