PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The Rhode Island Commerce Corp. has identified nine firms competing to help draw up the state’s real-estate development strategy for the former Route 195 land that may include evaluating a proposed baseball stadium.

A spokeswoman says the firms submitted “eligible proposals.” They are AGA Public Realm Strategists, Abramson & Associates Inc., CSL International LLC, Community Development Solutions, HR&A;, Nels Nelson Stantec, Peter M. Scotti Associates, RKG Associates Inc. and Rogers Partners.

The Providence Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1gE23RO ) that the firms responded to the corporation’s request for proposals issued March.

The corporation cited negotiations in refusing to release financial details.

A group of investors announced Feb. 23 their purchase of the PawSox baseball team and said they hope to leave Pawtucket’s McCoy Stadium by 2017 and build a stadium on 195 and Brown University land.
