ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - One of three men charged with breaking into the home of a 78-year-old woman and killing her has appealed his sentencing on unrelated convictions for violating an abuse prevention order.

The Caledonian Record reports (http://bit.ly/1a57XwL) Keith Baird also reached a plea agreement with prosecutors to settle pending charges of violating conditions of release.

Baird is charged with the 2010 killing of Mary Pat O’Hagan in Sheffield. He pleaded not guilty and awaits trial.

In the unrelated case, Baird was convicted last year of violating an abuse prevention order from prison by repeatedly phoning a woman in 2012. He appealed his sentence of at least 12 ½ years.

In the O’Hagan case, co-defendant Richard Fletcher agreed to cooperate with authorities in exchange for the dismissal of murder charges against him.
