ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers say a 19-year-old man was taken into custody after he was found unconscious at Anchorage’s largest airport with a stolen Alaska fire marshal badge.

Anchorage television station KTUU (http://bit.ly/1ybTjzh) reports the man on Tuesday was held on suspicion of theft. Online court records indicated formal charges had not been filed by Wednesday morning.

Troopers say an airport employee tried to wake the man up as he lay in the middle of the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport terminal and that he smelled heavily of alcohol.

Troopers spotted the badge on his belt.

They say the man on Saturday had visited the Troopers Law Enforcement Museum and apparently taken the badge from a mannequin.

Troopers say the badge is an artifact valued at more than $1,000.
