PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police believe they have caught the suspect behind a series of cellphone store robberies.

Police said Wednesday they arrested 25-year-old Uriel Cabrera-Toledo for robbing four armed robberies of stores in Phoenix. They also arrested 38-year-old Lizeth Salmon-Barrera in connection with the crimes.

According to Sgt. Vincent Lewis, investigators developed information leading them to identify Cabrera-Toledo as the suspect they nicknamed the “cutting edge bandit.”

They say the suspect would go behind the counter in each store and demand money while threatening a victim with a knife or gun.

Authorities say Salmon-Barrera drove a getaway car for Cabrera-Toledo during one of the robberies.

Police also believe Cabrera-Toledo is connected to armed robberies in Glendale and Tucson.

Additional charges are pending.
