HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - A large redevelopment project is gaining steam in downtown Huntington.

The Herald-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/1PphI8p ) the development is valued at more than $6 million and will consist of markets and restaurants.

In all, the plan would create 39,000 square feet of retail space, 31,000 square feet of office space and 27,000 square feet of luxury residence, with a target of 15 to 21 housing units.

The 3rd Avenue project is expected to generate up to 200 jobs and be completed within 12 to 18 months.
