WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in southcentral Pennsylvania say a 6-year-old boy has died after he was caught between horse-drawn hay carts.

The Chester County Coroner’s Office said Thursday said the boy’s death from multiple traumatic injuries was ruled to be accidental. Few details were available about the Wednesday morning accident on a road in Honey Brook and authorities didn’t identify the child.

Pennsylvania State Police say troopers were called to the scene around 9:15 a.m. after the boy had become pinned between the carts as they passed each other.

Authorities say the boy died a few hours later at Paoli Hospital.
